Dr. Megan E. Curran is a general dentist, mother of five, and active member of the Niskayuna community. Dr. Curran graduated from Niskayuna High School in 2002. She then earned a B.S. in Biology from SUNY Albany, graduating with honors in 2006. After spending two years and publishing studies as a Virology researcher with the New York State Department of Health, Dr. Curran continued her education at Tufts University School of Medicine. There she earned a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2010, graduating magna cum laude. She continued her dental education at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and earned her Doctorate of Medical Dentistry in 2014, again graduating magna cum laude. While at Tufts, Dr. Curran served as vice present of her graduating classes and was elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honors society. While at Tufts Dr. Curran married her husband, Charles Contompasis (also a Niskayuna native) and had their first son.

Dr. Curran and her family returned home to Niskayuna in 2014 to complete her one year general practice residency at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY, where she remained as an attending dentist for 5 years. During this time she honed her skills in implants, extractions, dentures, fillings, and medically complex patient care. She is excited to continue serving her community as a member of the team at Dr. Molino and Dr. Vaccaro’s practice. Dr. Curran is a member of the American Dental Association and the Fourth District of the New York State Dental Society.

Dr. Curran takes a modern approach to dentistry, understanding that today’s patients have an expectation for simplicity, transparency and honesty in their treatment. She aims to provide the quality dentistry that patients deserve, in a manner that is inclusive and easy to understand, educating her patients while encouraging their participation in oral health.

In addition to her roles at work and at home, Dr. Curran is the Director of the NYS chapter of the Tears Foundation, a national non-profit organization that provides financial and emotional support to families that have lost infants. This a cause close to her heart, done in honor of her son.

Dr. Curran currently resides in Niskayuna with her husband, their four children and two dogs. She can be spotted driving her crew around to local parks and sporting events. If not for her career in dentistry, she would love to be a kindergarten teacher or a professional Target shopper.
